bamboobear lives here at Liefje. That's Dutch for Darling or Beloved. That's how we feel about our little home. We, my hubby and I, have four kinds of bamboo growing around the property. I aspire to be like bamboo -- flexible, strong, vibrant and useful in hundreds of ways.
My dear, darling sweetheart and husband is named Alva. We've been a couple since June 11, 1987. We've been married three times already. To each other. Our first wedding was the real one. July 3, 1993 in Janet's backyard. Not considered legal. The second was a "quickie" wedding in Portland, Oregon. March 23, 2004 in the Courthouse. Legal for, alas, just a few weeks. Our finally legal wedding was at the County Clerk's building in San Jose, California. June 20, 2008. Even when the you-know-who funneled lots o' bucks from Utah to get Prop (H)8 passed, they couldn't invalidate our matrimony. And the Supremes ("...you can't hurry love....") affirmed not so long ago that all our brothers and sisters can take the plunge if they so desire.
